You would return to Jehovah's Witnesses if...
by Shawn10538 insomeone else suggested this so i just figured, ok let's do it.. 1. all present jws died and i became the sole leader of the entire religion.
2. then i would dissolve the religion and burn every last memory of it ever existing.
3. all books would be burned, all buildings destroyed.

Vehicle registration laws in your state, especially western states
by badseed inhere in california, i have to get a smog, which is an emissions test in order to register my vehicle.
does your state require an emissions test?
a regular inspection of the vehicle, or none?
-

Illinois charges $99 per year for registration, there are no safety inspections or smog tests required at the state level. I don't know about Chicago requirements. I pay about $400 per year per vehicle for car insurance. Gas today is $3.70 per gallon.

JW: Special Global Preaching Campaign
by pixel inthe following is from jw.org, but first, one observation: why they are putting all the importance in the bible teach book and not in the bible?.
also, if you look on the home page, on an image they have, you see all the witnesess holding the bible teach book in the foreground, and in some pictures, a witness holding the bible in the background.
so much for putting the bible first.. .

Just Ron did the 30 hours last year. What a monstrous waste of energy.

Most Jehovah's Witnesses dont want ex-JWs, dis-fellowshipped, disassociated to be successful!!!
by Joliette inor to acheieve any goals in their life.
and how dare you try to enjoy your life in this sick and demonic world.
dont you know that this world wont be here for long?

I remember the "friends" talking about the awful, terrible things that befell those who left the "truth". they sounded sort of pleased whenever something bad happened to a former witless. I never heard any reports of good things happening to anyone who left.

Are you a pecker?
by keyser soze inor do your fingers move fluidly across the keyboard when you type?.
i admit, i'm far more proficient with letters than i am with numbers and symbols..

I type reports for work, but I'm not very fast. I do use all my fingers, but not correctly. I'm really good on an adding machine or a number pad. Sometimes when I'm in a real rush, I type without capital letters. Those really slow me down.
And no, I don't have a pecker but Just Ron does...

Did you / do you have KH Parking Lot Security Duty?
by Alfred injust wondering if this is only a regional thing.... i've been in two kingdom halls in the 90's where the parking was basically shared or public... so every 15 minutes, baptized publishers (who were not irregular or inactive) were rotated and had to stand outside in all kinds of weather just to watch everyone's vehicles.
when the weather was nice, it was a good opportunity stretch out to take a break from the borefest.
but i always thought that this was so contrary to their belief of "putting kingdom interests first"... i even approached an elder one time about this and asked: "why are we putting material things ahead of listening to the public talk?

Not in our area - there isn't much crime around here except meth making and domestic violence. Not much to protect the car park from. Although one time during meeting, some kids opened an unlocked car and took some loose change out of the cupholder. One of the elders was laying down in his car due to a backache (yeah right) and heard them. He collared the little brats and called the cops. It was real hard to focus on the meeting with all that going on outside.

Those who still show up at the meetings, How do you manage?.

BigMac, I understand your point, but I am forever grateful that Just Ron waited for me to come to my senses so we could get out together. I don't know what would have happened if he had quit back when he first realized it wasn't really "The Truth". I strongly suspect that it would have destroyed our marriage. Even if I had eventually come to my senses, the damage would have already been done.
It all boils done to where your loyalty lies. Just Ron felt that I was more important to him, keeping our family intact was more important to him, than getting out of the borg immediately.
